Who's Involved
The main bodies involved in the preparation of the new Regional Strategy are the NWDA and 4NW, the Regional Leaders Board. They are jointly responsible for preparing the strategy on behalf of the region and are assisted by a Regional Strategy Advisory Group.
The Regional Strategy Advisory Group is made up of members from the public, private and voluntary / community sectors. The main purpose of the Advisory Group is to help guide the development and implementation of the RS. The Group offers advice on changing circumstances in their own areas of expertise, and will act as a conduit with organisations they represent to share information on and gain views/input into the RS process.

Regional Strategy Advisory Group members will therefore:
- Work with organisations that they represent to build consensus in the region around the strategic focus and investment priorities of a NW Regional Strategy.
- Develop thinking amongst the organisations that they represent to provide this input into the Regional Strategy, and enable engagement with and debate on the strategy as it is developed.
- Advise on existing priorities and current & changing circumstances (regional conditions, events and policy context) in their own areas of expertise/ special responsibility.
- Input into and agree a common evidence base for the NW Regional Strategy.
- Act as a two-way conduit of information sharing with the organisations that they represent and with colleagues on the RS Advisory Group.
Importantly, implementation and monitoring of the Regional Economic Strategy 2006, Regional Housing Strategy and the Regional Spatial Strategy 2008 will continue while Regional Strategy development takes place. Members of the RS Advisory Group therefore continue with their roles in relation to monitoring the implementation of the Regional Economic Strategy.
